LGU-Anao obtains its intellectual property right to AROMA ANAO Trademark
Another history marks the Ylang ylang industry in Anao as it obtained its intellectual property right to Aroma Anao as awarded by Director General Adrian Cristobal of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Philippines during the IPSO launching in Angeles City on March 20, 2009.
The Aroma Anao Trademark Certificate of Registration was received by Hon. Edgardo S. Felipe. The awarding of the Trademark Certificate of registration was one of the highlights of the one-day event of the IPO.
Mayor Felipe applied for trademark certificate in his vision to improve the Ylang ylang livelihood project in Anao which has brought awards and recognitions to the municipality for the past decades. He is also seeking for assistance from the DTI and DOST on the improvement of the packaging and marketing of the products with Ylang-ylang essential oils.
Women are also given trainings such as soap making and the like to maximize the use of ylang ylang essential oil. As of this date, the Anao Women’s Association is handling the manufacturing of the AROMA Anao soaps and detergents.
