The Anao Municipal Health Center takes pride for being PhilHealth accredited and a recipient of the Sentrong Sigla Seal

    Anao has one (1) Main Health Center, Philhealth Accredited on OPB (Out-Patient Benefit Package) since July 2005; and is located at the Poblacion Area. There are 7 Barangay Health Stations located at the far-flung barangays, Sinense, Bantog, Baguindoc, Suaverdez, Casili, San Francisco and San Jose. There are two (2) ambulances serving the municipality. The main health center is also a lying-in clinic since January 2001, being the only pilot area for Women’s Health and Safe Motherhood Program in the Province of Tarlac. The facility is also awarded last 2003 as a Sentong Sigla Facility in 2005, awarded as a Well-maintained Sentrong Sigla Facility.

     The family is manned by (1) Municipal Health Officer, (1) Public Health Nurse, (5) Rural Health Midwives, (1) Medical Technologist, (1) Municipal Dentist, (1) Rural Sanitary Inspector and (2) Ambulance Driver. The Barangay Health Stations are manned daily by Rural Health Midwives with Barangay Health Workers, however, the MHO has monthly schedule of consultation in each BHS.

     In the last five years, the leading cause of morbidity is still Acute Respiratory Infection nad the leading cause of mortality is cardio-Vascular disease.

     Registered death per year ranges from 30-50 and birth from 150-200 per year.

    To make medicines available at all times, the Local Government Unit, through the support of Regional Health Office and the Provincial Government, 5 Botika-ng-Barangay have been established, all in the far-flung barangays manned by a trained Botika Aid.

     Being an Award-Winning Child-Friendly Municipality, the Under-5 Clinic Program is very well-implemented- looking into conditions of children 0-5 years old, be he or she is sick or not, the program gives importance to pre-natal services- Martes, Araw ng mga Buntis is observed. Dental check-ups to pregnant, urinalysis and Hgb determination for all pregnant are done from the regular vaccination of Tetanus Toxoids. Child birth is already done at the RHU to prevent maternal and child morbidity and mortality. Past partner care is also done to all mothers who had delivered.

     The Main Health Center is a TB-DOTS facility with functional laboratory sputum examination.

     For adolescents, regular information dissemination to high school students on “Adolescent Fertility Awareness and Adolescent Nutrition”

     Fridays are set for consultation day for OSCA. Qi-gung- an exercise for senior citizen is another activity that make our elderly busy at 5:00 AM every Friday at the Municipal Plaza.
